OVERVIEW
Are you ready to become a Silverlight ninja? If so, this workshop is for you. We’ll start by learning the in’s and out’s of what it takes to create a good user experience in Silverlight. From there we’ll get connected to our data via WCF RIA Services. Following that we’ll take our application out of the browser and onto the desktop to leverage previously unavailable features. We’ll finish by looking at how we can take our newly learned Silverlight skills and utilize them to create compelling applications on the Windows Phone 7 platform. Throughout the course of this workshop we will build three related, non-twitter, applications that you can take back to your peers to show them just how much of a Silverlight rockstar you are!
INSTRUCTOR
Adam Grocholski is a Technical Evangelist for RBA Consulting in Minneapolis, MN, as well as a Microsoft MVP. Recently he has been diving into the latest UI technologies such as Windows Phone 7 and Silverlight along with some more obscure areas of the .NET Framework (i.e. T4 and MEF). Adam also has a strong commitment to the local developer community. From founding the Twin Cities Cloud Computing user group, to speaking at the .NET and Silverlight user groups and code camps. When not working he enjoys spending time with his three awesome daughters and amazing wife. You can catch up with his latest projects and thoughts on technology at http://thinkfirstcodelater.com, or, if that’s too verbose for your liking, you can always follow him on twitter at http://twitter.com/agrocholski.
