HDC was founded in 2003 with the primary purpose of providing the Mid-west software design and development community with a world class professional event, locally, and for a reasonable cost. What started as a 100 person, one day event in Des Moines, IA, has turned into one of the largest and most successful annual conferences in the country of its kind. Past speakers at HDC reads like a “who’s who” in the software design and development community including some of the most influential designers and technologists in our fields. Since our humble beginnings we’ve created an event that is on par with all of the most prestigious events in our industry including all the amenities you would expect from any “major market” event. The first of its kind, HDC has served as the case study and continues to set the bar for other similar regional and national events.

HDC also provides the regional community with an opportunity to speak to large groups of their peers, enhancing their exposure to the group, and creating a regional powerhouse of thinkers and teachers that were accessible to our community as a whole. Focusing on developing the community through the HDC event also provides members of our community the opportunity to forge lasting relationships to help further their careers and advance their techniques as new obstacles presented themselves through technology advancement. Creating a sound body of extremely networked, knowledgeable and accessible community leaders has been and continues to be our goal and each year we succeed in furthering that mission.

Last but certainly not least, HDC provides vendors and partners in our community the opportunity to stay connected to the growing and ever changing landscape of software design and development in our region. We believe that an important part of growing the community is making sure that each section of the ecosystem stays in sync and HDC provides an annual touch point to all the business that help make our software design and development community strong.
