We frequently get questions through email about various aspects of the HDC event. This is an aggregated list of the ones we think are valuable for everyone.
Why is the conference in Omaha each year? Didn't it used to move around to other cities?
Yes, we initially conceptualized HDC as a travelling conference that would move around the MidWest. Over the past several years, the conference organization team has slowly whittled down to one person - Joe Olsen. Since Joe lives in Omaha and runs HDC by himself, it's much easier to have it in Omaha. The city is a great host and attendance is the best in Omaha than it has been anywhere else as well.
If I have something come up, what's your cancellation policy?
We do not process cancellations, however we do allow you to transfer your registration to another party. Simply contact us and we'll process the transfer for you.
In the past there has been an early bird rate. I don't see one this year. Is there just one standard rate?
Yes. We decided to go with a single blended rate (early bird/standard) as a cheap solution to paying for the 3rd conference day. The sales from the blended fee pay for the 3rd day as the hands on labs fees go directly to the instructors.
How do I register for the hands on labs?
As the conference draws nearer, and the hands on labs are identified, they will be added to the registration page. You can register for the hands on labs, individually, at any time during open registration. Do not let the hands on labs availability stop you from registering for the HDC conference as it may sell out from under you. Register for the conference today, and come back later for the hands on registration(s).
